About The Project
Introducing the Double Trouble Shawl and its companion, the Double Trouble Scarf, which you can find also in my patterns, born from the need to create matching projects that can be enjoyed by both men and women, highlighting the new Friends yarns at HOBBII. Whether you’re crocheting for yourself or sharing the creative joy with a friend or sibling, this pattern offers a versatile and stylish solution.
This pattern is thoughtfully presented in US crochet terms and showcases the exquisite tapestry crochet technique. The beginning chain (CH2) of each row doesn’t count as a stitch, unless the instructions specify otherwise. When transitioning between colors, we recommend using a method that allows you to complete the last part of a stitch with the new color during the color change (specifically during the last yarn over). To maintain neatness in your work and prevent tangled strands, work the next stitches over the color you’re not currently using. The pattern will provide guidance on when the unused color is no longer needed.
For this project, I utilized 100% merino wool, but feel free to choose the yarn that best suits your creative vision.
To facilitate your crocheting experience, a helpful chart accompanies the pattern, where colored squares are labeled with the number of stitches required.
The resulting shawl measures approximately 65×190 cm when incorporating three repetitions of the main section. For those who wish to customize the width of their shawl, adding stitches on both sides of the motif is a simple adjustment. This can be done at the beginning or end of a row, and there’s no strict requirement for an odd or even stitch count. However, creating symmetrical increases on both sides is recommended. Furthermore, you have the freedom to insert any desired number of stitches in the center of your work, between the two mirrored motifs.
A printable version is included to enhance your crocheting journey, ensuring you have all the necessary guidance at your fingertips.
